GD single-mandate candidate physically assaulted, party lawmaker says
The ruling Georgian Dream party’s single-mandate candidate in Marneuli Municipality Zaur Dargali reported that the opposition United National Movement (UNM) member Lasha Kvelidze physically assaulted the ruling party’s candidate Rovshan Iskandarov in Sadakhlo village.
According to Dargali, the UNM member intended to write “Misha arrives, vote for UNM!” on the wall of a local school that caused the conflict. The GD candidate received injuries in his chest and face and was hospitalized following the incident.
The UNM accuses the GD candidate of initiating the conflict. Lasha Kvelidze was summoned for interrogation at Marneuli Police.
