GD MP Levan Machavariani: We remain optimistic about Georgia-U.S. genuine friendship and partnership

“We have declared on all levels that we are ready to sit down with our American colleagues at any time and draft a concrete roadmap, with a clear timeframe and scope, that reflects the interests of both sides,” said Levan Machavariani, a member of the parliamentary majority.

Machavariani echoed the letter of U.S. President Donald Trump sent to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

“The Biden Administration did its best to deteriorate Georgia-U.S. relations, the Administration, which, in Trump’s words, was greatly influenced by the Deep State. They fought with the same unfair and dirty methods as Brussels fights against us – lies, blackmail, menace, disinformation, double standards, etc.

Our team has done its best to launch a genuine partnership:

Due to the aforementioned attitude, we have been in disagreement with the Administration, which Mr Trump views as an adversary.

We supported Donald Trump’s election as President openly;

We have full alignment in values ​​and political viewpoints;

We have similar viewpoints and messages on state sovereignty;

Similar assessments on the Russia-Ukraine war;

Same viewpoints on European bureaucracy. Our grievances against Brussels have been reflected in the U.S. National Security Strategy document;

Same assessments of external interference risks;

Full alignment in assessment of NGO-related risks;

Same assessments of ultra-leftwing ideology;

U.S. President Donald Trump has sent a letter to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, thanking him for his congratulations on the 250th anniversary of America’s independence.
