GD Honorary Chair confident Mikheil Kavelashvili to reinstate seized dignity to president's institute
“I am confident that Mikheil Kavelashvili will fully reinstate the temporarily seized dignity to President’s Institute,” said Bidzina Ivanishvili, Honorary Chair of the Georgian Dream Party when presenting the presidential candidate at a briefing at the party’s central office.
According to the GD Honorary Chair, Mikheil Kavelashvili has been nominated by the party’s Political Council unanimously.
Bidzina Ivanishvili said that “undoubtedly” Kavelashvili would serve the interests of Georgia and the Georgian people, and contribute to the country’s progress and successes.
“Before the commencement of political activities, Mikheil Kavelashvili has always expressed his uncompromised viewpoints on significant issues for the country. For the last 8 years, he has successfully been engaged in political activities. He was an outstanding member of our political team. For the last several years, he has contributed a lot to the defence of national interests and the enhancement of state sovereignty.
Honesty, fairness, patriotism and commitment to principles – these are characteristics that make Mikheil Kavelashvili an outstanding person. He, with his nature and habitus, best portrays a Georgian man. He is an excellent spouse and father of four children. Taking all this into account, our team made a unanimous decision to nominate him as the presidential candidate. I am confident that Mikheil Kavelashvili will fully reinstate the temporarily seized dignity to the President’s Institute.
On December 29, the new president will be inaugurated and thus the practice of treason and gross violation of the constitution by presidents will be left in the past. Undoubtedly, Mikheil Kavelashvili will stand in the defence of the Georgian state and people instead of foreign forces, and will contribute to our country’s progress and success. I want to wish Mikheil Kavelashvili success in the position of Georgia’s President,” said Bidzina Ivanishvili.
