GD Executive Secretary urges President to condemn Macron for phone call with Bidzina Ivanishvili
“I urge Salome Zourabichvili to strongly criticize her ally Macron for initiating a phone conversation with Bidzina Ivanishvili,” stated Mamuka Mdinaradze, Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream party.
“They have become so disconnected that they believe they can act this way. Nevertheless, I remain hopeful that, in a civilized world, people will recognize the impropriety of their conduct and, despite the unjust treatment, will seek to engage respectfully with the government of an independent nation, its founding members, and representatives,” he added.
The phone conversation, initiated by French President Emmanuel Macron, involved him and Bidzina Ivanishvili, the Honorary Chair of the Georgian Dream party, as reported by GD.
According to the GD Press Service, President Macron expressed his concerns regarding recent events in Georgia and indicated his willingness to help resolve the situation.
Bidzina Ivanishvili thanked the French President for his initiative and welcomed the prospect of collaboration.
Both leaders agreed to remain in communication in the coming days to assess the progress of the situation.
