GD Chair says President Zourabichvili and radical opposition sabotage Georgia's European future

“Salome Zourabichvili, together with the radical opposition, is sabotaging the European future,” this is how the chair of the Georgian Dream party, Irakli Kobakhidze, answered a journalist’s question at a party briefing: “According to your opponents, you initiated the impeachment to drop out candidate status, and this is detrimental to the European integration. Do you accept responsibility for the damage?”

According to Kobakhidze, Zourabichvili openly states that Georgia does not deserve candidate status, and the EC’s recommendations are met only formally.

“This is actually sabotage of the European future of Georgia, carried out by Salome Zourabichvili and her agenda, which directly corresponds to the agenda of the radical opposition. Her gross violation of the Constitution is yet another manifestation of this sabotage. This is because she is flagrantly violating the Constitution to continue to sabotage the European future, which we, of course, could not ignore.

The European future means that the state must function, first of all, within a constitutional framework, and the official called the head of state cannot violate the fundamental law of the country. Violating the Constitution is sabotage of the European future, and talk that Georgia does not deserve candidate status is sabotage of the European future,” Kobakhidze said.
