Verbal altercation between MPs Irakli Kirtskhalia and Giorgi Sharashidze during plenary
A verbal altercation took place between MPs Irakli Kirtskhalia from the Georgian Dream party and Giorgi Sharashidze from the Gakharia for Georgia party during the plenary.
The dispute arose over the lawsuit initiated by the GD in the Constitutional Court of Georgia.
Irakli Kirtskhalia explained why the ruling party had called for the banning of several opposition parties. Among the reasons cited by the leader of the parliamentary majority were acts of sabotage by the opposition, as well as attempts to orchestrate revolutions and coups.
Kirtskhalia commented on the remark by Sharashidze, who insisted that the GD clarified his party’s guilt. Sharashidze stated that the GD acted out of a personal vendetta against the Gakharia for Georgia party, and that the ruling team was dragging the country into a dictatorial quagmire.
During a verbal altercation between the MPs, Irakli Kirtskhalia labelled the representatives of Giorgi Gakharia’s party as “agents” and told them, “You should be ashamed.”
