GD Chair hopes President not to commit treason by ex-president's pardoning

“Voters, for whom Mikheil Saakashvili’s crimes were unacceptable, supported Salome Zourabichvili to be elected as President,” said Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party.

The GD Chair responded to the question on the possible pardon of the jailed ex-President Saakashvili by President Salome Zourabichvili.

“Nothing comes as a surprise for us from Salome Zourabichvili. She crosses red lines. I don’t know what her next step will be, but such a move would be treason committed before her voters. It is her affair, and everything is possible from her,” he said.
