GD Chair advises legislating what meetings with foreigners inside Georgia need gov't authorization

“I believe the issue of meeting with foreign representatives inside the country should be settled immediately at the legislative level so that the law defines what type of meetings and events need the governmental approval,” Chairman of the Georgian Dream Party Irakli Kobakhidze said.

The GD Chair further noted that the legislation should be adopted after consultations with foreign relations specialists.

“I might not have responses to certain issues. Therefore, we will consult to define what is a representative authority. We should ask the government if it is ready because of certain political inconveniences. I believe the law should be fully harmonized with the Constitution,” he said.
