Gakharia for Georgia and Lelo to name joint candidate for Tbilisi Mayor today
The joint candidate for Tbilisi mayor, representing Gakharia’s Georgia Party and the Lelo Party, will be announced today. A member of Gakharia for Georgia, Tamar Kekenadze, announced this detail.
According to Tamar Kekenadze, a final agreement on the joint candidate has already been reached. As Kekenadze noted, both the Tbilisi mayoral candidate and candidates for all 64 municipalities will be distinguished by high credibility.
“As we have been telling our voters and Georgia’s citizens over recent months and weeks, according to the memorandum we signed with Lelo, we confirm once again that our main joint task for the municipal elections is to reach an agreement on all candidates, both mayoral and majoritarian, both for Tbilisi and all 64 municipalities.
I can already confirm that an agreement has been reached regarding the Tbilisi mayoral candidate. This was a very normal, active working process between our two parties, and we also had very active collaboration and consultations with Tbilisi residents.
Today, our jointly agreed mayoral candidate for Tbilisi will be presented, while parallel work continues to harmonise on candidates in all 64 municipalities, both for mayoral and majoritarian positions. We will introduce everyone individually in stages.
We will all learn together this evening during the presentation who the agreed-upon mayoral candidate will be. I can tell you that the main criteria for both the Tbilisi mayoral position and all 64 municipal mayorships will be several factors: first and foremost, these will be professionals distinguished by high credibility,” Kekenadze declared.
