Freedom Square party leader urges hunger strikers to stop their extreme form of protest
Freedom Square party leader Levan Tsutskiridze urged Coalition for Change member Gedevan Popkhadze and other hunger strikers to stop their extreme form of protest.
According to Tsutskiridze, Georgia needs healthy people in its fight.
“Our fellow citizens are on a hunger strike in front of the parliament. I want to apologize to them because I did not agree with what I am saying. We need these people healthy with us in the fight. I want to convey my request to them that we heard what they were saying, but this government, this party, won’t understand it. Therefore, I want to ask them to stop the hunger strike and join us in this flight. We need them healthy, strong and in fighting spirit,” he said.
In response, Gedevan Popkhadze told journalists that he would make a decision together with his friends.
“I will decide the fate of this protest together with my friends,” he said.
