President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier has started his official visit to Georgia.
The plane of the German President landed at Tbilisi International Airport, where he was greeted by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Davit Zalkaliani.
Frank-Walter Steinmeier has arrived in Georgia with an official visit together with his wife Elke Budenbender.
The official hosting ceremony will take place at the Presidential Residence. The Georgian and German presidents will hold meetings in face-to-face and expanded formats. The two presidents will then make joint statements for the media.
According to the Presidential Administration, Frank-Walter Steinmeier will meet with Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II and Georgian businesspersons. Frank-Walter Steinmeier will lay a wreath at the Memorial of Heroes in Tbilisi.
Within the framework of the Georgian visit, the President of Germany will arrive in the eastern Kakheti region and tour about several wine-producing companies. He will also visit Alaverdi Monastery and King Erekle II museum.
