Four NATO vessels entered the territorial waters of Georgia. Within the framework of the visit, Commander of Standing NATO Maritime Group Two, Boudewijn Boots will meet with the head of the Coast Guard Department. The workshops, cultural and sports events will be held.
The guests were welcomed by Director of the Coast Guard Department, Polish Ambassador to Georgia, representatives of local self-government and NATO Liaison Office.
The vessels of Standing NATO Maritime Group Two (SNMG2) and two vessels of Georgian Coast Guard – ‘Dioskuri’ and ‘Ochamchire’ will conduct joint exercises. The floating facilities of the Netherlands, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria will also take part in it.
The exercises aim at increasing interoperability between Georgia and NATO.
The vessels will stay in Poti Port until April 4.
