“Wages and fuel are not worth trying to ennoble the ‘Dream’s’ parliament,” said former chair of the United National Movement (UNM) party, Nika Melia, addressing the current UNM leadership.
According to Nika Melia, supporters of the UNM are interested in what the party MPs do in the parliament.
Melia stated that the UNM failed to force the ruling party to fulfil the 12-point recommendations; admission to the jailed ex-president has been prohibited to the lawmakers since January 2023; the parliament had to establish an interim facts-finding commission in case of 50 votes of the opposition.
“It seems that the UNM MPs have the only function in the government – to beautify the Georgian Dream. I understand that there are wages, fuel, and other privileges, but nothing is worth trying to ennoble the “Dream’s” parliament,” he said, adding he would like to hear responses from the UNM lawmakers.
