Foreign Relations Committee Chair meets CoE PA President

Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Georgian Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee and Permanent Head of the Georgian parliamentary delegation in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), met the newly elected President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, Petra Bayr.

During the bilateral meeting held within the framework of the 25th winter session of the OSCE PA, Nikoloz Samkharadze focused on cooperation issues, including the Georgian delegation’s return to the CoE PA.

He stressed that the Georgian side was ready to present its delegation to the Assembly but only if the delegation’s mandates were recognized without any “ungrounded preconditions.”

The sides reviewed ongoing political processes in the country, elections related issues and the current legislation.

Aleksandre Maisuradze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Austria; Permanent Representative of Georgia to the OSCE and other international organizations in Vienna, attended the meeting.
