Foreign Minister – Opponents attempted to expose narrow political interests but unsuccessfully
Opponents attempted to expose their narrow political interests in context of an important document for the security of the country but unsuccessfully – Davit Zalkaliani, Foreign Minister said when commenting about the approval of US National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for 2021 by the U.S. Senate.
Zalkaliani wrote in social network that with the document, the U.S. once again reaffirmed support to Georgia. “The document contains clear messages in support to Georgia’s territorial integrity, Euro-Atlantic integration, strengthening of defense capabilities. It addresses the Black Sea security issues, highlighting Georgia’s special role in the region, and the need for further US efforts to assist partners in strengthening security as well as resilience to address existing threats,” Zalkaliani said.
