Opponents are trying to misinterpret strategic partnership and bring into society the feeling as if the US, our main strategic partner, hints on Georgia’s movement into incorrect direction – Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Davit Zalkaliani thus commented upon evaluations of the opposition about Legislative Amendments of Senator Jim Risch.

Zalkaliani further said that the oppositional parties, with use of different tricks, tried to make harmful to the country definitions into National Defense Authorization Act.

According to Foreign Minister, the National Defense Authorization Act is an important document which provides clear signals in support of Georgia.

“The opposition portrayed the change so that if it is not taken into account, Georgia will not receive any assistance that will be reflected on the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States,” Zalkaliani said.

Foreign Minister recommended to read the document carefully which is focused on strategic cooperation, carried out reforms, March 8 Agreement and Giorgi Rurua but mentioning him not as being a political prisoner. “It is a lie that the document outlines some conditions,” Zalkaliani claimed.
