Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili condoles families of victims in Spain’s tragic train accident
Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili has expressed her heartfelt sorrow over the devastating train accident that occurred in Spain.
In a post on the social platform X, she conveyed her deepest condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones.
“Deeply saddened by the tragic train accident in Adamuz, Córdoba. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families. In this difficult time, Georgia stands in solidarity with the people of Spain,” wrote Maka Botchorishvili.
According to the latest reports, 39 lives were lost, and at least 170 people were injured, following the collision of high-speed trains in southern Spain. The incident happened near Córdoba, when a high-speed train travelling from Málaga to Madrid, carrying around 300 passengers, derailed and collided with an oncoming train travelling from Madrid to Huelva.
