For Georgia's Pilpani denounces UNM's constitutional lawsuit as laughable and self-serving
“What can be said about the United National Movement’s constitutional lawsuit? It’s laughable. When it suits, they can file a case in court; when they don’t, they can’t. Sometimes they recognise the court’s existence, sometimes they do not. I cannot offer a serious comment on it,” Vika Pilpani, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party, stated.
According to Pilpani, this inconsistency reflects the frivolous attitude of the United National Movement.
“It’s impossible to take it seriously. When it suits them, they criticise others for turning to the courts. Their focus is entirely on themselves from start to finish. They seem to believe the world revolves around them, but it does not. What hope can the United National Movement have regarding the court? In reality, it’s a court of their own creation, controlled by the ‘clan’ they established. The Georgian Dream has effectively taken control of this court. I believe no one will ban the United National Movement anyway. On the contrary, they can even strengthen it, as they have been doing for the past 12 years.
The UNM and the Georgian Dream fuel each other; neither can survive without the other. The people must decide which parties will endure in this country. The idea of a constitutional ban on parties is not constitutional, no matter how many times we invoke the word ‘constitutional,’ it simply cannot be. I think the United National Movement is the least vulnerable to this threat because the Georgian Dream has done everything to revive and strengthen it, so that it could harm people daily,” Pilpani concluded.
