For Georgia's Parulava: Restoring relations with U.S. requires pragmatic and reasonable approach, which GD government currently lacks

“According to our information, this is not an official visit nor an official invitation from the United States,” stated MP Giga Parulava, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party, regarding the Georgian parliamentary delegation’s trip to the United States.

He explained that the delegation travelled to the U.S. at the invitation of an American congressman.

“They are free to go, but unfortunately for us, this will not lead to a positive outcome for our country. It is merely a personal invitation from an American congressman. They will conduct relevant meetings, but these are unlikely to yield any substantial or meaningful benefits.

Restoring relations with our strategic partner, the United States, demands a pragmatic and sensible policy, something, regrettably, that the Georgian Dream government and the current ruling team lack.

When we say that, unfortunately, the Georgian Dream does not possess the resources to rebuild the relationship with the United States, it is a grave misfortune. We sincerely hope that the United States will not leave the Georgian people in such political hardship,” Parulava remarked.

As a reminder, the Georgian parliamentary delegation has departed for Washington, D.C. The delegation includes members of the parliamentary majority: Nikoloz Samkharadze, Mariam Lashkhi, and Lika Shartava.
