“A major obstacle to the country’s development is the Georgian Dream. The United States remains Georgia’s strategic partner, but the relationship cannot be considered strong or effective, a situation that is the result of the Georgian Dream’s policies and their responsibility,” said Tata Khvedeliani, a member of the “Gakharia for Georgia” party, in an interview with GPB First Channel.

According to her, “the government poses a significant obstacle to our country’s development.”

“While meetings are taking place in America, if there were genuine resources allocated for a real reset of relations, I don’t believe the deputies would be permitted to attend. Instead, such meetings would be led by high-ranking officials. As it stands, these are just routine gatherings,” Tata Khvedeliani remarked.

The Georgian parliamentary delegation is currently visiting Washington, D.C., comprising members of the parliamentary majority: Nikoloz Samkharadze, Mariam Lashkhi, and Lika Shartava.

During the visit, Nikoloz Samkharadze met with Brendan Hanrahan at the U.S. Department of State. Samkharadze stated that the meeting reaffirmed the United States’ willingness to commence work on a new strategic partnership agreement.
