For Georgia to consider President's message

A member of the opposition For Georgia party, Mikheil Daushvili, said their party’s MPs would consider President Salome Zourabichvili’s message during the impeachment vote in the parliament, though the party planned to press the “red button.”

“I do not know about the President’s plans and goals, but we will consider her request. We intended not to support the impeachment and anti-European integration procedure, respectively. Also, we believe the President should not resign and continue her struggle to contribute to the European integration process,” he said.

In her address last evening, President Salome Zourabichvili expressed readiness to arrive at the parliament for an impeachment hearing, advising the opposition “to stand outside and stand against this anti-European impeachment if they want to present a strong image.”

The Constitutional Court on October 16 ruled President’s violation of the Constitution. The parliament will hold an impeachment vote this week.
