Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili will participate in the 134th meeting of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers, scheduled for May 13-14 in Luxembourg.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this ministerial gathering will focus on the Council of Europe’s role within the evolving geopolitical landscape and address issues outlined in the Reykjavík Declaration, including human rights, environmental protection, and education.
Minister Botchorishvili will deliver an address to the assembled participants and engage in a thematic discussion at the invitation of Luxembourg’s Vice Prime Minister and Foreign and Trade Minister, Xavier Bettel. The discussion will be dedicated to the Council of Europe Secretary General’s initiative, “A New Pact for Democracy in Europe.”
Additionally, FM Botchorishvili will hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts.
Luxembourg will transfer the chairmanship of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers to Malta for the upcoming six months following the meeting.
