FM regards Georgia’s participation as CIIE Guest of Honour as highly significant

“Georgia’s participation in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) as a guest of honour is of great importance. It brings the spotlight onto Georgia and its products, which is particularly noteworthy given the scale and scope of the Chinese market,” stated Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.

According to the Foreign Minister, the Prime Minister’s visit to China was valuable in terms of strengthening bilateral relations and advancing trade and economic cooperation.

“Georgia’s role as a guest of honour at the China International Import Expo is indeed very significant. It highlights Georgia and its products, which is especially remarkable considering the size and potential of the Chinese market.

The Prime Minister’s visit to China was fruitful in fostering bilateral ties. We engaged in productive discussions on enhancing trade and economic relations, exploring new avenues for growth, and harnessing the untapped potential for deepening our economic partnership. The relationship between China and Georgia is also particularly important within the context of the Middle Corridor.

Access for cargo from China to the European market via Georgia, as well as broader relations with China in this regard, remain crucial. These topics were also addressed during the visit,” she concluded.
