FM: Observers from European countries are here; if anyone has questions about democracy, they should provide explanations
“We saw observers from European countries. If anyone has questions regarding democracy, it would be more appropriate for them to offer explanations,” stated Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.
According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, today Georgia hosts foreign observers from all nations that have expressed an interest in overseeing the electoral process.
“There are foreign observers in Georgia who, in accordance with legislation, have registered with the Central Election Commission. Those interested and able to do so are welcome to observe the election proceedings. Observers from all countries that have shown interest in monitoring elections are present. I am not aware of their assessments of democracy, but we did see representatives from European nations. If anyone in European countries has doubts or questions about the state of democracy, perhaps they, the observers, are the ones to provide their explanations,” Botchorishvili remarked.
