FM meets UK Minister of State for Europe and North America

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili met the Minister of the State of the United Kingdom for Europe and North America, Leo Docherty.

At the meeting, the FM underscored the importance of the visit, accentuating the UK’s increasing interest in the region and confirming Georgia-UK bilateral strategic relations.

The two ministers reviewed the regional challenges and Georgia’s role as a mediator to ensure peace and stability in the region.

Leo Docherty stressed Georgia’s connectivity role in European energy independence and shaping new energy architecture.

The sides discussed the existing “Wardrop Strategic Dialogue” between Georgia and the United Kingdom. Georgia reiterated its readiness to host the 9th round of the Dialog in Tbilisi. The FM also focused on the consolidation of partners’ support amid global security threats.

The Minister of State of the United Kingdom for Europe and North America, Leo Docherty, visits Georgia within the framework of the regional tour.
