FM Botchorishvili says Luxembourg FM consistently demonstrates genuine desire to hear directly from Georgian side
“It is encouraging when a colleague is eager to meet, to understand what is happening in the region, in Georgia, and to explore how we can strengthen the Georgia-EU dialogue and relations,” said Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.
She noted that Georgia frequently engages with the Luxembourg Foreign Minister.
“You see, unlike his other colleagues, the Luxembourg Foreign Minister never refuses dialogue. We have very regular meetings and often speak. He always seeks to hear Georgia’s position on various issues. We genuinely appreciate this, as the approach typically seen within the European Union is often inadequate. Discussions about Georgia happen frequently, yet rarely does anyone ask Georgia to share its perspective or describe what is happening within the country. Therefore, it is especially welcome when a colleague shows such a desire to understand the regional context, Georgia’s challenges, and how we can enhance and contribute to the Georgia-EU relationship,” Botchorishvili stated.
