FM Botchorishvili meets with UN Secretary-General António Guterres during 58th session of UN Human Rights Council
Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in Geneva within the framework of the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council.
The discussion covered Georgia’s participation in the activities of the United Nations and its institutions, as well as the organization’s important role in ensuring peace and development globally.
The Minister thanked the Secretary-General for the support expressed toward Georgia. The conversation addressed the situation in Georgia’s occupied regions.
At the meeting, the parties paid special attention to the UN’s active involvement in the Geneva International Discussions. The importance of UN resolutions regarding Georgia was once again emphasized.
During the meeting, the parties focused on security challenges in the world and the region, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and stability against this background.
The discussion at the meeting also touched on the positive dynamics of Georgia’s economic development and its role in the region.
The Minister invited the Secretary-General to Georgia and once again pledged the Georgian side’s readiness to continue supporting the organization’s initiatives and actively engage in promoting global peace, development, and overcoming global challenges.
