A joint session of five parliamentary committees—Finance and Budget, Sectoral Economy and Economic Policy, Agrarian Issues, Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, and Regional Policy and Self-Governance—reviewed the programs of ministerial candidates on Wednesday.

Levan Davitashvili, candidate for Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development; Davit Songhulashvili, nominated for the position of Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture; Irakli Karseladze, candidate for Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure; and Lasha Khutsishvili, nominee for Finance Minister, received support from the committees.

Levan Davitashvili emphasized that the government’s rational, consistent, and effective vision would foster positive economic trends. He noted that the forecasts from international financial organizations predicted the highest economic growth for Georgia within the region and among European countries.

Davit Songhulashvili highlighted agriculture as a “significant ring” in the chain of economic development. He remarked that the adoption of modern technologies and sharing of international best practices would “directly impact the population’s welfare.”

Irakli Karseladze discussed both implemented and ongoing projects of state and municipal importance.

Lasha Khutsishvili indicated that the country’s budget could potentially rise to GEL 40 billion by 2028.

Paata Kvizhinadze, Chair of the Finance-Budgetary Committee, extended his best wishes to the ministerial candidates on behalf of the committees.
