Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili reported to the Parliament on the principal trends of the country’s economy.
According to the Minister, in the post-pandemic period, the Georgian economy reached double-digit growth in two years, following which the economy returned to the pre-pandemic trend in 2023 and continues to grow significantly.
He noted that the restoration of tourism highly contributed to the economic growth.
“The revenue from tourism in 2022 amounted to a record USD 3.5 billion,” he said.
Also, according to Lasha Khutsishvili, inflation returned to the target rate.
The Finance Minister noted that Georgia is actively working towards harmonizing with EU regulations.
“EU candidate status, along with the European future, is another proof of the progress including within the framework of public finance management reform,” he said.
