Finance Minister: In 2026, GDP per capita to exceed USD 11,300

Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili presented the final version of the 2026 state budget project in the parliament.

He said that real economic growth was forecast at five percent, while its medium-term forecast was 5.3 percent. The average inflation forecast for 2026 is 3.3 percent.

The Minister remarked that the nominal GDP forecast is set at 114 billion 121 million GEL, while the GDP per capita exceeds USD 11,300.

The Minister of Finance noted that the tax revenues of the consolidated budget are set at 27 billion 40 million GEL, which makes an increase of 240 million GEL compared to the previous version of the project.

The budget deficit is 2.5 percent of GDP, and the government debt ratio is within 33.5 percent. The expenditure part of the 2026 consolidated budget totals 36 billion 285 GEL.

“All the aforementioned indicates that the budget, through correct fiscal policy, plays a crucial role in ensuring macroeconomic stability that is key for our country’s long-term development,” Lasha Khutsishvili stated.

The Finance Minister commended all committees, especially the Finance-Budgetary Committee, for their active engagement and prolific cooperation in drafting the budget.
