The team competition in figure skating is underway at the Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina.

Anastasia Gubanova presented Georgia in the short program. Her performance was evaluated at 67.79 points, thus earning 6 points for Georgia.

Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin competed in the rhythmic dance segment, contributing an additional 5 points to Georgia’s tally. The skating pair of Luka Berulava and Anastasia Metelkina secured 9 team points. Following three disciplines, Georgia now has 20 points and sits in fourth position.

The top five after the first day are as follows: USA (25 points), Japan (23), Italy (22), Georgia (20), Canada (19).

Nika Egadze is scheduled to compete tomorrow, February 7, in the short program.

A total of ten countries are competing in the figure skating team event. The five teams with the highest combined scores after four rounds will advance to the finals, continuing their quest for Olympic medals.
