Federalists’ Chergoleishvili: It is Mikheil Saakashvili himself who is dismantling UNM, not Iago Khvichia

“It is Mikheil Saakashvili himself who is systematically dismantling the United National Movement (UNM), not Iago Khvichia,” declared Tamar Chergoleishvili, leader of the Federalists party, in a social media post.

Chergoleishvili asserted that the main opposition party has no prospect of survival.

“Responding to the ongoing spat in the television world, I want to emphasise that it is Mikheil Saakashvili himself who is systematically dismantling the United National Movement, not Iago Khvichia. The cult of personality is destroying that party in precisely the same way as the cult of personality is ruining Georgian Dream.

Someone like Iago is merely a side effect, and such side effects will never run dry as long as talentless, multi-flop figures who imagine their salvation lies in barking from the shadow of some authoritative patron exist.
