In response to overwhelming demand from fans eager to travel to Riga for the historic match, the Georgian Airports Association (GAA) has arranged an additional subsidised flight for September 10 on the Prime Minister’s instructions, the Ministry of Economy has announced.
According to the agency, all tickets for the supplementary charter flight, added to support the Georgian national basketball team, have now sold out.
“An extra subsidised flight from Tbilisi International Airport to Riga will be operated by Air Baltic at 03:05. Fans will return to Georgia on September 11, at 04:25 Georgian time,” the Ministry confirmed.
The one-way ticket price, subsidised by the Georgian Airports Association, remains at €195. Tickets are now available for purchase on the online platform TKTFLY.GE/eurobasket.
This special flight is timed to coincide with the historic quarter-final match of the Georgian national basketball team against Finland, scheduled for September 10, at 18:00 Georgian time.
Only passengers holding a valid ticket to attend the EuroBasket 2025 game at Tbilisi International Airport before departure will be eligible to travel on this subsidised flight to the Latvian capital, the Ministry of Economy stated.
