Ex-President Saakashvili: Heroism of Burchuladze, Zodelava, Nadiradze, Manjgaladze, and Beridze to be remembered
“Paata Burchuladze courageously fought against injustice and unwaveringly stood by the Georgian people. The arrest of Paata Burchuladze, Murtaz Zodelava, Irakli Nadiradze, Paata Manjgaladze, and Lasha Beridze is a testament to their heroism, which will be etched into history,” Saakashvili wrote on social media.
Furthermore, Saakashvili emphasised that participating in the recent elections was a mistake; the correct course of action would have been to boycott them and instead organise a broad public gathering on October 4.
“Paata Burchuladze has many admirers and friends across the West. He owns a very comfortable house in Germany, located in the centre of a city I have visited numerous times. His wife, from Odessa, cares for the property.
One of his closest friends in America, a prominent businessman who is both an acquaintance and admirer of Paata, offered him a share in his business and a life of ease. Yet Paata demonstrated remarkable patriotism and fearless courage.
He steadfastly opposed injustice and stood firmly with the Georgians. The arrest of Paata Burchuladze, Murtaz Zodelava, Irakli Nadiradze, Paata Manjgaladze, and Lasha Beridze is a testament to their heroism, an act that will be remembered throughout history.
The Western media is actively spreading the narrative that the Georgian Dream party won the local elections in Georgia, yet protests against the election results continue on the streets. This is why participating in these elections was a mistake; boycotting them and holding a nationwide rally on October 4 was the right decision,” Saakashvili added.
