Ex-President Saakashvili: Call to morning vote and evening rally aims to legitimise Russian special operation
“Those who say, let’s go to the polls in the morning and to the rally in the evening, are, in fact, intent on legitimising the Russian special operation in the morning and dispersing the rally in the evening,” wrote former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili on social media.
According to Saakashvili, both of these actions are part of Ivanishvili’s manipulative games.
“Those who claim, let’s go to the polls in the morning and to the rally in the evening, are, in reality, planning to legitimise the Russian special operation in the morning and to disperse the rally in the evening, as they have done numerous times in the recent past. Both are strategies orchestrated by Ivanishvili,” Saakashvili added.
For context, Lelo’s Tbilisi mayoral candidate, Irakli Kupradze, stated: “Voting in the morning and gathering on Rustaveli in the evening is an important message of unity for society.”
