Eva Shashiashvili, detained in October 4 case released on bail
Eva Shashiashvili, detained in the October 4 developments case, has been released on bail. The court imposed a fine of GEL 5,000 as an alternative to a preventive measure.
The Prosecutor’s Office applied to the court with a request to release Shashiashvili on bail, taking into account her health state documentation submitted by the defence side.
Eva Shashiashvili participated in the court hearing via video link. She will leave Rustavi Women’s Prison after undergoing all relevant procedures.
Shashiashvili was charged with sub-paragraph “a,” part 3 of Article 19-222 of the Criminal Code of Georgia pertaining to attempt to seize strategically significant facilities committed in a group, and Part 3 of Article 225 of the Criminal Code (participation in group violence) that carries the prison sentence of up to 6 years. Eva Shashiashvili admits the guilt.
