EU Integration Committee Chair: We are watching Opposition Alliance's collapsing drama, will see new alliance with new logo and colors
“The likelihood that Nanuka Zhorzholiani will rescue the United National Movement (UNM) indicates the dire state within the party,” said Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the parliamentary European Integration Committee.
According to Makhashvili, as much as Zhorzholiani is not serious, the entire UNM is unserious.
“The party is alienated from society. Everyone knows how the so-called Opposition Alliance will end up. We are watching a 2-3-month-long collapsing drama ending logically. It is likely that they will live the summer, and then we will see the new alliance with a new logo and colors.
We have seen the beginnings of many different types of motivations, but the public has witnessed that the end is the same. Nanuka Zhorzholiani is a frivolous person, not to mention her politically criminal past,” he said.
In his June 10 Facebook post, jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili announced radical changes in the UNM; proposed journalist Nanuka Zhorzholiani reform the party.
