EU Delegation in Georgia: Georgia-EU total foreign trade turnover reaches EUR 5 billion in 2024

“Over the past decade, total foreign trade between Georgia and the EU has grown steadily, reaching EUR 5 billion in 2024,” reads the statement shared by the EU Delegation in Georgia.

According to the embassy, the EU remains Georgia’s largest trade partner.

“Georgia and the European Union have benefited from a free trade agreement since 2014. The Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) has opened one of the world’s largest markets, over 450 million consumers, to Georgian companies through zero customs duties on nearly all products, simplified border procedures, and closer regulatory alignment. The number of Georgian companies exporting to the EU has nearly doubled, and trade has become a story of growing trust, opportunity, and shared prosperity.

Over the past decade, total foreign trade between Georgia and the EU has grown steadily, reaching EUR 5 billion in 2024. The EU remains Georgia’s largest trading partner, accounting for 22% of total trade. Aligning with the EU standards has led to improved quality and safety of Georgian products and to stronger competitiveness among local firms.

At the same time, while many DCFTA opportunities are yet to be fully explored, a decade-long trend reflects the resilience and growing interest of Georgian small and medium-sized enterprises in the EU market,” reads the statement released by the EU Delegation in Georgia.
