Carl Hartzell, Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia welcomes additional medical expertise acquired by Georgian ombudswoman and her team to assess Mr Saakashvili’s health situation “objectively, as part of fulfilling her important constitutional mandate to supervise the protection of human rights in Georgia.”
Mikheil Saakashvili, who is on the 48th day of his hunger strike, has been taken to the No.18 prison infirmary on November 8.
