Estonian FM calls for “increased pressure on regime”
“It’s a sad, very bad story, what is happening with Georgian people,” Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated.
He emphasised that greater pressure must be applied to the regime and that this pressing issue warrants further discussion.
“It’s a sad, very bad story, what is happening with Georgian people, and this regime must be put under more pressure. We need to discuss it. Estonia has always been supportive of the Georgian people and has also imposed different restrictions and bans on different leaders of this regime,” Estonian FM has said.
For context, the majority leader, Irakli Kirtskhalia, announced following the parliamentary majority session on January 28 that several legislative amendments had been drafted. Notably, according to Kirtskhalia, an amendment has been made to Georgia’s Law on Grants, establishing criminal liability and making external lobbying punishable.
