Elizabeth Rood: Georgia has made choice to join Western structures, the EU and NATO
We allocated grants to ‘Information Center on NATO and EU’ in order to provide the society with information about the benefits that the country will gain through Western and Euro-Atlantic integration, – – the US Charge d’affaires Elizabeth Rood made this statement.
According to her, relations with NATO help Georgia to strengthen its security.
“Georgia has made the choice to join Western structures, the EU and NATO. This is a decision of Georgia and this path has a lot of benefits for Georgia both in terms of economic and security. For example, Georgia enjoys with the free trade agreement and free visa regime with the EU. In addition, Georgia’s relations with NATO help Georgia to enhance the security of the country. However, many people in Georgia, especially those living in the regions, do not know about Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic benefits. This project will help to disseminate information. We allocated grants to ‘Information Center on NATO and the European Union’ in order to provide the society with information on the benefits that the country will gain through Western and Euro-Atlantic integration”, – Elizabeth Rood stated.
Presentation of the project planned within the framework of the US $ 500 million assistance to the LEPL “Information Center on NATO and EU “, provided by US state department, will be held today at the Information Center on NATO and EU.
