The ruling team led dirty pre-election campaigning fearing to lose the power – Elene Khoshtaria, a member of European Georgia Party said during the briefing.
“We saw Tbilisi City Hall frightened by our banners and Georgian Dream – tearing off the posters of our candidate Shalva Shavgulidze. . . We saw speculations with the deceased people that became a trademark of Georgian Dream. This is a humiliation of Mtatsminda voters when one believes that by hatred and lies, you can force people to vote for a desirable candidate and interfere with free choice,” Khoshtaria said.
The second round of by-elections will be held in Mtatsminda Majoritarian Election Constituency on June 9. Two candidates are participating in the run-off: Shalva Shavgulidze from European Georgia – Free Democrats Party and Vladimer Kakhadze – Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia Party. The 43 909 voters are registered in Mtatsminda Constituency.
