Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth Affairs Givi Mikanadze participated in the 2026 Graduation ceremony of the Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University (TSU).

The Minister congratulated the graduates and wished them success.

“The 2026 graduation ceremony is special. This year, we celebrate the 150th anniversary of prominent Ivane Javakhishvili and the 1,700th anniversary of the declaration of Christianity as the state religion. Each graduate is rejoicing now, but the joy in the hearts of the professors and teachers, whose dedication and effort to imparting knowledge to these young people, is no less profound.

I would urge the youngsters to have faith in their opportunities and remember that every success will bring pride to the country. I believe that through your knowledge and professionalism, you will bring honor to your family, your teachers, and our beloved homeland!” he said.

Successful graduates received gifts. The TSU capella performed the students’ anthem Gaudeamus.

Tbilisi State University has 3,298 graduates this year. In the 2026–2027 academic year, the university will admit more than 8,600 first-year students to its bachelor’s and master’s programs.
