Education Minister: ENQA concludes Georgia’s quality framework aligns with European standards

The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) has published its final expert report, confirming that Georgia’s educational quality assurance mechanisms are fully compatible with European standards.

“This represents a milestone recognition of our recent reforms and ongoing achievements,” announced Givi Mikanadze, Georgia’s Minister of Education, Science and Youth.

According to the Minister, this evaluation will form the basis of an upcoming application by the National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement to the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR).

“This very decision will provide the foundation for the application that the National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement will submit to the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education. We anticipate a final decision this autumn, which will rightfully reinstate the Centre’s full status, marking another crucial milestone of international recognition.
One of the core priorities of our higher education reform is the continuous improvement of quality assurance. Over the past few months, we have taken substantial steps forward in this regard, both through legislative amendments and by strengthening internal regulatory acts. Following the submission by our National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement, ENQA thoroughly evaluated these changes and implemented reforms. Today’s concluded report is the direct result of that rigorous process, and it will serve as the springboard for even greater achievements in the future,” Givi Mikanadze stated.
