“For Georgia, digital transformation means creating new opportunities, strengthening resilience, and ensuring that every citizen benefits from the advantages of the digital economy,” said Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, addressing the High-Level Meeting on Global Artificial Intelligence Governance in Shanghai.
According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, as part of the strategy for the development of the digital economy and the information society, the country is improving digital infrastructure, supporting technological progress, and laying a solid foundation for the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence.
“Georgia will not stay beyond the global transformation. The Georgian government is currently working on a national artificial intelligence strategy and is establishing the country’s first artificial intelligence research center at Kutaisi Technology Hub. This facility unites researchers, startupers and international technology companies to create practical AI products and contribute to the development of a talented young generation,” she said.
Mariam Kvrivishvili highlighted the opening of the conference when the participants had the opportunity to hear from President Xi Jinping. In her words, the speech demonstrates the role which China attaches to international partnership and the development of artificial intelligence.
