Economy Minister on Stori HPP: Development of such capacity HPPs significant for stable energy supply
Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili visited the construction site of Stori Hydro Electric Power Plant and Power Transmission Line in Telavi, the eastern Kakheti region.
The construction of the Stori HPP will be completed in 2026, its installed capacity will be 47.6 MW, and its annual output – 208 million kWh.
According to Kvrivishvili, a boost of energy security is a priority of economic policy.
“Such projects as Stori HPP and the electric power transmission line, New Telavi, serve several goals. Firstly, such capacity HPPs are significant for our country’s energy system development. It will boost Georgia’s energy generation, ensuring a stable energy supply for the population. Secondly, the new project will create new permanent job places in the region for the local population,” she said.
