“The core significance of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Georgia and China was firmly underlined during high-level talks in Beijing, establishing a vital foundation to deepen trade, economic, and people-to-people ties,” declared Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Mariam Kvrivishvili.

Speaking following her meeting with Ding Xuexiang, Chinese Vice Premier and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CCP Central Committee, Kvrivishvili characterised her working visit to China as exceptionally productive.

“During our discussions, we addressed key priority areas where bilateral ties can be further strengthened. Particular emphasis was placed on trade, the transport and logistics sector, Georgia’s strategic role within the Middle Corridor context, the progress of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port, as well as the strong upward momentum across tourism and civil aviation,” Kvrivishvili noted.

The Minister added that discussions focused on practical measures to scale up Georgian exports to the Chinese market.

“As part of the visit, we held targeted bilateral meetings with major local Chinese enterprises to explore expanding the reach of Georgian exports. We are maintaining very active dynamics in our trade and economic ties with China, backed by significant new initiatives,” the Vice Prime Minister said.

Kvrivishvili stressed that expanding trade and cultural exchange remains central to Georgia’s broader economic strategy.

“A paramount priority for us is ensuring that various sectors of our national economy develop in a diversified and sustainable manner. Identifying major, reliable, and sustainable export markets is integral to this strategy, and deepening economic ties with China is central to that goal. Alongside our diplomatic engagements, 37 Georgian companies are currently participating in the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, showcasing Georgian-made products and forging new commercial connections across the domestic Chinese market,” she explained.

The Ministry of Economy confirmed it will continue hosting targeted trade missions to help domestic businesses secure direct commercial partnerships in China.

“Through these trade missions, we will support Georgian companies in reinforcing commercial ties with local Chinese counterparts, enabling them to capitalise fully on their export potential and deliver annual growth for Georgian products in China,” the Vice Prime Minister concluded.
