Economy Minister: Georgia and China to sign key memorandums to boost trade and economic ties

During her visit to China, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili announced that several high-level bilateral meetings will take place, including with the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of China and the Mayor of Shanghai. She also noted that a number of important memorandums are set to be signed as part of the visit.

“Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, we are conducting a very important visit to the People’s Republic of China. Within the framework of the visit, we will hold high-level meetings with the Chinese Prime Minister and the Mayor of Shanghai. At the same time, we will sign several key memorandums that will elevate trade and economic cooperation, as well as people-to-people relations, to a new and significant stage,” Kvrivishvili told journalists in China.

According to her, strengthening relations with China remains a strategic priority for Georgia.

“These memorandums and the meetings scheduled during the visit will produce tangible results in the near future, contributing to increased trade turnover and stronger economic ties between our countries,” she said.

Kvrivishvili also highlighted Georgia’s participation in the upcoming China International Import Expo, where the country will be featured for the first time as a guest of honour.

“Georgian entrepreneurs participating in the fair will have the opportunity to connect with major Chinese corporations and jointly promote the export of Georgian products to the Chinese market,” she added.
