Economy Minister engages with Ambassador of Turkiye to review trade-economic relations
Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili engaged with Turkiye’s Ambassador to Georgia, Ali Kaan Orbay, to review trade-economic relations between Georgia and Turkiye.
The Minister and Ambassador focused on steps taken towards the intensification of a years-old strategic partnership and prolific cooperation in trade, energy, transport, logistics, tourism, investments and other sectors. They stressed that the positive dynamics of economic ties were reflected in exports and imports, cargo turnover, air transfers and tourism.
Mariam Kvrivishvili and Ali Kaan Orbay discussed upcoming plans and investments, which will be implemented through collaboration between the Georgian and Turkiye governments, as well as private sector partners from both countries. They talked about the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Economic Commission, the planned visit of Turkiye’s Trade Minister, and the organisation of a business forum as part of this visit.
“The Ambassador congratulated Mariam Kvrivishvili on the appointment as minister and expressed hope that the Ministry of Economy, together with relevant Turkish agencies, will continue making efforts to upgrade economic relations between the two countries to an even higher level,” the Ministry said.
