Economy Minister: Discussing new initiatives with UNWTO to bolster Georgia’s tourism sector

“Together with the Prime Minister of Georgia, we had a very productive and engaging introductory meeting with the new head of the UN World Tourism Organisation. We outlined a clear action plan and introduced new initiatives that will particularly strengthen our country’s tourism industry,” said Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, reflecting on her discussions with the Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organisation, Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais, in Dubai.

According to the Minister, particular emphasis was placed on enhancing education and investment strategies to ensure the rapid growth of Georgia’s tourism sector, within the framework of even closer collaboration with the UN World Tourism Organisation.

“I would especially highlight new opportunities in education to develop tourism as a profession in our country. It is also important to emphasise our new initiatives aimed at attracting even more investment directly into the hospitality sector, to facilitate the development of new tourism products,” added Mariam Kvrivishvili.
